Orkhon Waterfall

About 80 km west of Khujirt are waterfalls 24 m high. The excursion from Khujirt allows you to cross a beautiful region of Mongolia where herds of yaks and horses abound. Over a distance of more than 100 km, the valley is covered with volcanic rocks from the ancient volcano of Togoo which, according to geologists, erupted 20 or 30 thousand years ago. The eruption gave rise to a fault with steep cliffs in which the Orkhon flows. The Orkhon Valley is surrounded by many volcanic mountains. Togoo is located between the sum of Kharkhorin and that of Khotont, on the west bank of the Orkhon River. 8 km before the big falls (Ikh Khurkheree), stop at Üürtiin Tokhoï for a beautiful view of the 25 to 30 m high canyon, then stop at the “small falls” (Bag Khurkheree) which n are only 4.5 m high but the site is very beautiful.
