Khurgan Lake is a breathtaking glacial lake located in Bayan-Ölgii Province, in the far western region of Mongolia. Set against the majestic Altai Mountains near the border with China, the lake is fed by snowmelt and connected to nearby Khoton Lake via a narrow channel. It is considered one of the most scenic and untouched lakes in the country.
Surrounded by lush meadows, traditional Kazakh ger camps, and snowy peaks, Khurgan Lake is a popular destination for trekking, photography, fishing, and eco-tourism. During summer, local Kazakh families graze their animals nearby, offering a glimpse into authentic nomadic life.
