Khermen Tsav is one of the most striking and remote natural wonders of Mongolia’s Gobi Desert. Located in the far southwestern corner of the country in Umnugobi province, this red sandstone canyon stretches for over 15 km and is often referred to as “The Grand Canyon of Mongolia.”
Its layered cliffs, wind-sculpted formations, and vibrant colors at sunrise and sunset make it a paradise for photographers and explorers. Khermen Tsav is also famous for being a rich site of dinosaur fossils.
