Khatgal Village – Gateway to Lake Khövsgöl

Khatgal Village is a charming settlement located at the southern tip of Lake Khövsgöl, often referred to as the “Blue Pearl of Mongolia.” This lakeside village is the main access point for travelers visiting the Khövsgöl National Park and is popular for both its breathtaking natural surroundings and its authentic northern Mongolian culture.

Once a Soviet military post, Khatgal has transformed into a peaceful eco-tourism hub with cozy guesthouses, traditional ger camps, and locally-run restaurants. Visitors come here to enjoy the crystal-clear lake, hike the nearby mountains, and experience Tsaatan (reindeer herder) culture.
