Bayanzurkh, also called the “Black Mountain,” is located 27 km from Sainshand city in Dornogobi Province, southeastern Mongolia. Though only 1,031 meters high, it holds deep spiritual meaning. Once known as the “Tomb Mountain,” it is the burial site of Jamiyandanzan, the third highest lama of the Gobi, making it a place of pilgrimage.
