Welcome to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital. Your guide and driver will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel in the city center.
The first day program starts at noon. We start with lunch with the Mongolian team.
We will visit Zaisan Tolgoi to enjoy panoramic views of Ulaanbaatar
Visit the superb National Museum of Mongolian History, the largest museum in Mongolia, where you will learn the great history of Mongolia.
Walk in the city center of Ulaanbaatar and visit the main square of Chinggis Khan.
The fabulous traditional Mongolian show of Tumen ekh will introduce you to Mongolian instruments, traditional dances, religious dances, traditional songs, overtone songs, and contortions in the evening.
Note: Once we arrive at the hotel in Ulaanbaatar, we will walk between the museums and the Tumen Ekh show to avoid the traffic. Our hotel is situated in the heart of the city, and every attraction is very close.
The adventure starts, and we will go to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolia.
Visit to the museum of Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolia. After creating Mongolia, Genghis Khan wanted to create the world's capital in the Orkhon Valley, but unfortunately, he died before it was built. In 1235, Ugudei, the son of Chinggis Khan, created this city in honor of his father.
Visit to Erdene-zuu Monastery. The 29th descendant of Chinggis Khan, Abtai Khan, wanted to create an extensive monastery but needed help to choose the right place. Then, the 3rd Dalai Lama Sonam Gyatso advised him to build this monastery on the ruins of the ancient capital of Mongolia. In 1586, Abtai Khan then built Erdene-Zuu.
On the way, we will visit the Museum of Khoshoo Tsaidam,
25 km south of Lake Ogii and about 60 km from the ancient imperial city of Kharkhorin, in the valley of the Orkhon River, there are two monoliths of primary importance, close to each other: one is a funerary monument built to the glory of the Turkish prince Kul-Tegin (685-731), the other is dedicated to his brother, Bilge-Khagan (716-734).
Our next destination is Khogno-khan Park, also known as Mini-Gobi. This park offers a diverse range of landscapes, including a lake, trees, mountains and 80km long sand dunes. Once we arrive and settle into our ger camp, we will get the chance to explore the 18th-century Erdene Khamba monastery and take a leisurely stroll through the sand dunes.
Going on a camel ride in the Gobi is a thrilling experience. The camel will take us smoothly over the sandy hills and a river, a sparkling water body that sometimes flows on top and sometimes under the ground. Our trip will take us to a small refreshing spot at the bottom of the hills, decorated with saxaul bushes.
We will be arriving at the Khustai National Park, where we can observe the wild horses of Przewalski, ancestors of modern-day horses. After settling into our ger camp, we will head out for a few hours of observation of the horses. The best time to see them is between 5-7 p.m. when they come down from the mountain to drink water.
Journey to Gorkhi-Terelj National Park, a beautiful green oasis outside the city gates. The park boasts rocky formations sculpted by erosion, mountainous areas filled with lush pine trees, plains scattered with vibrant wildflowers and edelweiss, and serene rivers and lakes. We will stay in this park at a comfortable ger camp for two nights.
Our next stop on the itinerary will be at the magnificent Turtle Rock, a uniquely shaped rock formation that strikingly resembles a turtle. Following that, we will make our way to the Ariyaval Monastery, where we can explore its rich history and immerse ourselves in its serene surroundings.
We will visit the 40-meter-high equestrian statue of Genghis Khan, the tallest in the world of a man on horseback. Visit the museum inside the statue.
We will visit a nomadic family and learn about their culture, traditions, and way of life. We will see how the nomadic people live, such as milking cows, making traditional dairy products, and gathering firewood.
We will also ride horses and explore the beautiful landscape. This experience will give us a unique insight into the nomadic way of life and allow us to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of living close to nature.
In the evening, our generous host will prepare a traditional Mongolian dish for us called "Mongolian barbecue made by grilled stone." This unique culinary experience involves grilling meat and vegetables on hot stones, creating a delicious and flavorful meal.
Visit The Tonyukuk inscriptions, also called the Bain Tsokto inscriptions, which are Turkic inscriptions of the 8th century and are located in Nalaikh, Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
We will arrive in Ulaanbaatar in the afternoon. This is an opportunity to do some last souvenir shopping. Your guide will help you find the necessary shops for your desires: souvenirs, cashmere, and small Mongolian objects.
After breakfast, we will accompany you to the international airport of Ulaanbaatar according to the schedule of your flight.
