  • Welcome by your guide and your driver at the airport of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.

  • The first day program starts at noon. We start with a lunch with the Mongolian team.

  • Visit the superb National Museum of Mongolian History, the largest museum in Mongolia where you will learn the great history of Mongolia.

  • Walk in the city center of Ulaanbaatar and on the main square of Genghis Khan

  • The fabulous traditional Mongolian show of Tumen ekh. You will discover Mongolian instruments, traditional dances, religious dances, traditional songs, overtone songs and contortions.

HISTORY OF MONGOLIA
  • Before heading to the countryside, we'll to visit the Gandantegchilen Monastery. This monastery is a significant cultural and religious site in Mongolia, and it is a must-see attraction for tourists. The monastery is located in the heart of Ulaanbaatar and is easily accessible. It is a peaceful and serene place, and visitors can witness the daily rituals and practices of the monks. The monastery also houses a museum that showcases the rich history and culture of Mongolia. Overall, visiting the Gandantegchilen Monastery is a great way to experience the spiritual and cultural side of Mongolia.

  • Visit to the museum of Kharkhorum, the ancient capital of Mongolia. After creating Mongolia, Genghis Khan wanted to create the capital of the world in the Orkhon Valley, but unfortunately he died before it was built. In 1235, Ugudei, the son of Gengis Khan created this city in honor of his father.

  • Visit to Erdene-zuu monastery. The 29th descendant of Chinggis khan, Abtai Khan, wanted to create a big monastery, but he couldn't choose the right place. Then the 3rd Dalai Lama Sonam Gyatso advised him to build this monastery on the ruins of the ancient capital of Mongolia. In 1586, Abtai Khan then built Erdene-Zuu.

GET ON THE HORSE
  • In the morning, we will meet with the horse guides who will be joining us for our journey. They will provide us with essential tips and guidance on how to safely navigate the Mongolian horses. It will be important for us to pay attention and follow their instructions closely. Afterwards, we will need to select the horses that we will be riding for the next 9 days. This is an important decision as we will be relying on these horses to carry us through our adventure. We should take our time to carefully choose horses that are suitable for our riding abilities and preferences.

  • As we begin our journey and cross the first hill, we will be greeted by the breathtaking beauty of the Orkhon Valley. From the backs of our horses, we will have a stunning view of the valley and the winding river that runs through it. The sight of the herds scattered across the landscape will truly be a sight to behold.

  • By evening, we will reach the edge of the river and establish our camp. It will be a moment to relax and unwind after a day of riding. We should make sure to set up our camp in a safe and comfortable location, taking into consideration factors such as proximity to water and shelter.

RIDING THROUGH THE ORKHON RIVER
  • We continue our journey along the Orkhon River with our new nomadic friends, the breathtaking landscapes unfold before our eyes. The vast steppe stretches out in all directions, painted in hues of green and gold. The gentle breeze carries the scent of wildflowers, adding a touch of sweetness to the air.

  • As we ride alongside the river, we catch glimpses of animals frolicking in the distance. Herds of horses gallop freely, their manes flowing in the wind, while graceful gazelles gracefully leap across the grassy plains. The nomadic way of life becomes more apparent as we witness their harmonious coexistence with nature.

  • We finally arrive at the Uurtiin Tokhoi, a place renowned for its natural sparkling water. The river cascades over rocks, creating a mesmerizing display of sparkling droplets that catch the light. We take a moment to marvel at this natural wonder, feeling a sense of tranquility wash over us.

  • Once again, we set up camp by the Orkhon River, immersing ourselves in the peaceful ambiance of the surroundings. The crackling of the campfire and the murmurs of conversation fill the air as we gather together, sharing stories and laughter. The nomadic lifestyle teaches us the importance of simplicity and connection with the natural world.

NOMADIC LIFE 
  • Today we are going to heart of Orkhon valley, an unforgettable journey through the vast expanses of Mongolia. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a place of nomadism where herders set up their summer camps every year. You can discover the culture and way of life of Mongolian nomads by exploring this magnificent region. The landscapes are breathtaking, with majestic mountains, crystal-clear rivers, and endless green steppes. We will spend next two days with local nomad family.
  • We will learn about their culture, traditions, and way of life. We will help them with their daily chores such as milking cows, making traditional dairy products, and gathering firewood. This experience will give us a unique insight into the nomadic way of life and allow us to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of living close to nature.
  • Visit the famous Ulaan Tsutgalan waterfall, which stands at a height of 24 meters, and we will ride horses to get there.We can also gallop through the vast steppe. 
  • On our last day, our host will prepare a traditional Mongolian dish called "Mongolian barbecue made by grilled stone.

PART 2 - PROVINCE OF ARKHANGAI
  • After spending five days riding horses in the Orkhon Valley, it is now time to bid farewell to our herders and our trusty steeds. Today marks our last day in the beautiful Orkhon Valley. In the afternoon, we will journey into the territory of Arkhangai province, where we will be welcomed by a local family. This will serve as the starting point for the second part of our horse riding adventure. Here, we will have the pleasure of meeting our new herders and being introduced to our new horses. Arkhangai province is renowned for its picturesque landscapes and captivating natural beauty.

  • Our journey will proceed in the Arkhangai provinces, accompanied by fresh horses and new herders.
  • Arkhangai is a province located in central Mongolia, known for its picturesque landscapes and diverse natural beauty. As we continue our trip with our new horses and herders, we can expect to be surrounded by vast grasslands, rolling hills, and majestic mountains. Arkhangai is also home to several stunning national parks, including the Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park. Here, we can witness the magnificent Khorgo volcano, formed thousands of years ago, and explore the pristine Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake, also known as the White Lake. The park is a haven for wildlife, with various bird species, deer, and even rare snow leopards roaming its protected areas.

The river will flow gracefully, cutting through the rugged terrain, offering a refreshing respite from our adventurous journey. We will eagerly dismount our horses and allow them to drink from the crystal-clear river, their thirst quenched by its pure waters. The peaceful ambiance of Tsenkher River will rejuvenate our spirits, preparing us for the rest of our remarkable expedition.

  • After a refreshing break in Tariat, we mount our horses once again and set off towards our next destination - the awe-inspiring Khorgo Volcano. As we approach this magnificent natural wonder, its towering presence becomes increasingly evident on the horizon.

TSENKHER HOT SPRINGS
  • We will head to the Tsenkher hot spring to bathe in the hot water baths of the ger camp. The hot springs are situated in a picturesque valley surrounded by mountains and lush forests. The water temperature in the springs ranges from 86 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and is rich in minerals such as sulfur, calcium, and magnesium. The hot springs are known for their therapeutic properties and are believed to have healing effects on various ailments such as arthritis, skin problems, and respiratory issues. We can stay in traditional Mongolian gers and enjoy the natural beauty and tranquility of the area.

  • Along the way, we will also be making a stop at the Taikhar rock. The Taikhar rock is a large boulder located in the Taikhar Chuluu Nature Reserve in Mongolia. It is a popular tourist attraction due to its unique shape and size, standing at over 20 meters tall. The rock is believed to have been formed millions of years ago through natural erosion and weathering. Visitors can climb to the top of the rock for a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, the rock is considered sacred by the local people and is believed to have healing powers.

MINI-GOBI
  • Our next destination will be Khogno-khan Park, which is also known as mini-Gobi. This park boasts a diverse range of landscapes, including a lake, sand dunes that stretch for 80km, trees, and mountains. Once we have arrived and settled into our ger camp, we will have the opportunity to explore the 18th century Erdene khamba monastery and take a leisurely stroll through the sand dunes. For those who are interested, there is also the option to ride a camel.
