NOMADIC LIFE
-
After breakfast, we will take the road to join the nomadic family waiting for us. After crossing typical Mongolian steppe landscapes following the Orkhon Valley, we will arrive in the afternoon at our hosts. We will spend 4 nights with this same family. We will sleep in individual gers that our nomadic friends will have set up for us.
-
The day of a nomadic family begins around 7 a.m. Among Mongolian nomads, women are responsible for milking animals (yaks, mares, goats and sheep), they also cook, clean and take care of children. The men, on the other hand, spend their time outside. In the morning, they leave to look for the animals and bring them back. They fetch water, they cut wood and they take care of the animals.
-
We will learn about their culture, traditions, and way of life. We will help them with their daily chores such as milking cows, making traditional dairy products, and gathering firewood. We will also have the opportunity to ride horses and explore the beautiful landscape of the Orkhon valley. This experience will give us a unique insight into the nomadic way of life and allow us to appreciate the simplicity and beauty of living close to nature.
-
Visit the famous Ulaan Tsutgalan waterfall, which stands at a height of 24 meters, and we will ride horses to get there. We can also gallop through the vast steppe.
-
On the last evening, we will enjoy our last dinner with the herders. They will prepare a Mongolian barbecue: meat cooked with hot stones.
